Noahs Ark Animal Sanctuary

Established in 1990, Noah's Ark Animal Sanctuary in Locust Grove, Georgia, is a 501(c)3 Non-Profit Educational Sanctuary for roughly 1000 animals from over 100 different species that include exotic animals, livestock, companion animals and non releasable native wildlife.

We are a true sanctuary that does not breed, buy or sell our rescued animals. Those who come through our gates will live out their lives in as natural a habitat as possible with top of the line medical care, nutrition and enrichment.

Noah's Ark is well known as a preferred facility for rehoming confiscated illegal pets, as was the case in 2001 when a baby bear, lion and tiger were found in a basement during a drug raid in Atlanta. This odd trio was dubbed the "BLT" (standing for bear, lion, tiger) and they lived together peacefully their entire lives until Leo the lion and Shere Khan the tiger passed away from age related illnesses in 2016 and 2018. This was the only instance of an adult lion, tiger and bear living together in the world. Today, Baloo the bear is the only surviving member of the BLT and he continues to serve as a reminder that love and acceptance of one another is far more powerful than the differences between us.
