DESCRIPTION
Teresa Walker has been a wildlife photographer for more than 11 years, but her love for horses began long before she ever picked up a camera.

Growing up, Teresa was immersed in the world of Arabian horses. Her father owned, bred, and showed Arabians across the country, earning numerous National Championships with his horses. Teresa followed in his footsteps, showing her Arabian Park horse and experiencing success at the national level with her own Park horse. Those years gave her a deep appreciation for the beauty, strength, spirit, and individuality of horses, a connection that has been part of her life for more than 45 years.

Later in life, Teresa discovered wildlife photography, bringing together her love of animals, nature, and photography. Wild horses quickly became her greatest passion. Through her lens, she strives to capture not only their beauty, but also their relationships, personalities, struggles, and the extraordinary freedom of life in the wild.

Her photography has taken her to several of America’s wild horse ranges, including McCullough Peaks in Wyoming, the Salt River wild horses in Arizona’s Tonto National Forest, Sand Wash Basin in Colorado, and Assateague Island in Maryland. Each experience has deepened her admiration for wild horses and strengthened her commitment to photographing, appreciating, and advocating for their continued presence on the landscapes they call home.

While wild horses hold a special place in Teresa’s heart, she also enjoys photographing raptors, owls, and a wide variety of birds and other wildlife.

Today, Teresa shares her passion for wildlife and photography with her husband, Gary, who has begun his own photography journey alongside her. Together, they enjoy exploring wild places, observing animals in their natural environments, and capturing moments that tell the stories of the wildlife they encounter.

For Teresa, wildlife photography is about more than creating a beautiful image. It is about connection, respect, storytelling, and preserving a glimpse of the wild for others to see and appreciate.
