The David M Lucas Dog Park
DESCRIPTION
This beautiful dog park was built through grants, donations and fundraising; no taxpayer dollars were used. The park is located off I-70 exit 213, near St. Clairsville, Ohio. The park offers separate sides for small & medium/large dogs, with trees, benches, picnic tables, a covered pavilion, and water hydrants in each side. The park added a Rainbow Bridge in 2025 for visitors to memorialize their pets who have passed over the bridge. The park is named after Belmont County Sheriff David M. Lucas (retired), who was instrumental in initiating the facility. Sherri VanTassel, his Outreach Coordinator, formed a non-profit corporation to continue David Lucas' vision for continued maintenance and enhancements to the dog park and adjacent areas. Former Sheriff Lucas is the President of the corporation: The David M. Lucas Dog Park & Recreation Fund, Inc.
